Vision

To be a disciple-making church.

Mission

Compelled by love for God and our neighbour, we will be disciples and make disciples of Jesus Christ, so that lives and communities are transformed — all for God’s glory.

Values

1. Active Faith - We prayerfully step out in faith, trusting God in everything we do.

2. Zeal for God - We desire to exalt and glorify God passionately in our lives and corporate gatherings.

3. A Love for the Bible - We open the scriptures to be personally transformed, and as a community, to grow into the image of Christ.

4. Authentic Fellowship - We genuinely love one another, with honesty in our relationships and bearing each other’s burdens.

5. Disciple Making - We will follow Jesus, and train and equip others to do the same.

1. Divine Revelation and the Word of God

Romans 1:18-20

Psalm 19:1-4

2 Timothy 3:16-17

2 Peter 1:20-21

Mark 13:31

John 8:31-32

John 20:31

Romans 10:14-17

We believe that since creation God has been revealing Himself to humanity through His creation, through His spoken and written Word and ultimately through His Son, who is the eternal Word. We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God, written by people under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is without error in the original manuscripts, and that it has supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. The Bible is sufficient for all that God requires us to believe and to do and therefore it is to be read, studied, trusted, obeyed and proclaimed.

2. The Nature of God

Genesis 1:1, 26

John 1:1-3

Psalm 90:2

Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14

Ephesians 4:5-6, 1 Corinthians 8:6

Colossians 2:9

Isaiah 9:6

John 14:9-11

2 Corinthians 3:17

We believe that there is one true and living, triune God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal in every divine perfection, they execute distinct but harmonious roles in the work of creation, revelation, providence and redemption and are equally worthy of worship, honour and praise. And yet, there is one God.

3. God the Father

John 4:24

Luke 10:21-22

Matthew 23:9

John 3:16

Romans 1:7

1 Timothy 2:5-6

1 Peter 1:3

We believe in God the Father, the self-existing eternal one, perfect in holiness, wisdom, justice, power and love, the Creator of heaven and earth. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

4. Jesus Christ

Matthew 1:18-25

Luke 1:26-38

John 1:1-4, 1:11-14

Colossians 1:15-20

2 Corinthians 5:21

1 Peter 2:21-24

John 20:30-31

Matthew 20:28

Acts 1:11

Romans 6:6-10

Hebrews 7:25

Hebrews 9:28

We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal Word, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe all things were created through Him and for Him and that in Him all things hold together. We believe He is fully God and fully man. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His victory over sin and death, His ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and in His personal, visible, future return to earth.

5. The Holy Spirit

John 14:16-18, 14:26

John 15:26-27

John 16:7-15

Ephesians 1:13-14

Romans 8:9-11

1 Corinthians 3:16

1 Corinthians 6:19

Galatians 5:22-26

We believe in the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and who regenerates, sanctifies, and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ at conversion, and that He is an abiding helper, comforter, teacher and guide. As the third member of the Trinity, He is to be honoured and obeyed as God.

6. Creation

Genesis 1:1-2:3

Exodus 20:11

Nehemiah 9:6

Psalm 33:6

Isaiah 45:18

Hebrews 11:3

Colossians 1:16-17

John 1:1-3

Revelation 4:11

Hebrews 1:3

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth from nothing, speaking them into existence. We believe that all things were created for His glory and that all things are sustained by the power of His word.

7. Humanity

Genesis 1:26-28

Genesis 2:20-24

Genesis 9:5-6

Matthew 6:26

Psalm 139:13-16

1 Peter 2:17

Matthew 22:37-40

1 Corinthians 7:2

1 Corinthians 11:3

Ephesians 5:21-33

We believe that God created human beings, both male and female, in His image and for His glory. We believe that all people are of equal value, worth and dignity regardless of age, sex, colour, language or ability. We believe that humanity has the responsibility to rule over and be stewards of the rest of God’s creation. We believe that God created male and female to complement one another in the one-flesh union of marriage, which is the only God-honouring sexual relationship.

8. Sin

Genesis 3:1-24

Romans 3:9-20, 3:23

Ephesians 2:1-3

Romans 6:23

1 John 1:8-10

Galatians 5:19-21

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

James 1:13-15

Romans 5:12

We believe that, having been tempted by Satan, humanity’s first parents, Adam and Eve sinned and fell from their position of holiness and righteousness. Humanity’s perfect relationships with God, each other and the rest of creation, were broken and all of humanity has inherited a sinful nature that is opposed to God. We believe that all of creation is under a curse because of humanity’s sin. The just and right punishment for our sin is death and eternal separation from the goodness of God. We believe that no amount of good works or religious activity can erase or minimise the guilt of our sin or set us free from sin.

9. Salvation

Acts 4:11-12

Romans 1:6-7

John 3:15-17, 3:23-26

Romans 10:9-13

Ephesians 2:1-10

Romans 5:6-11

Titus 3:4-7

Ephesians 1:3-8

2 Corinthians 5:17-19, 5:21

We believe that the only way a person can be saved from sin, death and God’s righteous wrath and judgement is by God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ and his atoning death on the cross. We believe that anyone who repents of their sin and puts their faith in Christ is born again, is given eternal life, is made a new creation, is adopted into God’s family as a child of God and becomes a citizen of the Kingdom of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in the new believer and gives them the desire and power to live a life pleasing to God, and the Holy Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are children of God giving us assurance of salvation.

10. The Church

Ephesians 1:22-23

1 Peter 2:4-5, 2:9-10

Ephesians 2:19-22

Acts 2:42-47

Hebrews 10:23-25

Matthew 28:18-20

Acts 1:8

We believe in the universal church which consists of all saved people. It is the living, spiritual body of Christ of which Christ is the head. We believe in the local church, consisting of a community of believers in Jesus Christ who gather for prayer, worship, teaching, the Lord’s Supper, ministry, encouragement and fellowship. We believe that the mission and purpose of the church is to share the truth of the gospel with those who do not believe and to grow those who do believe in Christ into disciples of Christ and true worshippers of God for the glory of God.

11. Eternity

Matthew 16:27
Matthew 25:31-46
Mark 14:62
John 14:2-3
Acts 1:9-11
Philippians 3:20-21
1 Thessalonians 4:14-18
2 Timothy 4:1
Titus 2:12-13
1 Corinthians 4:5
1 Corinthians 15:12-58
2 Thessalonians 1:7-10
Revelation 20:11-15
Revelation 21:1-8, 21:22-27

We believe in the physical resurrection of the dead and the glorification of those who belong to Christ. We believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in judgement of the unrighteous and the rewarding of the righteous. We believe in the eternal punishment of Satan and all those who are outside of Christ. We believe in the eternal joy of the righteous in the New Heaven and New Earth in the fully manifest presence of God.

WE BELIEVE:

1. Ordinances

Matthew 28:18-20

Acts 2:37-39

Romans 6:3-5

Luke 22:19-20

1 Corinthians 11:23-29

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances or observances to the local church; baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We practice believers’ baptism by full immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit which identifies the believer with the death and resurrection of Christ and proclaims the believer’s new life in Christ. We believe that the Lord’s Supper, or communion, was instituted by Christ to remember His death and to look forward to His return. The bread is taken as a reminder of Christ’s body put to death on the cross and the cup as a reminder of His blood shed on our behalf and of the new covenant that was made in His blood.

2. Spiritual Gifts

1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 12:27-31

Romans 12:3-8

Ephesians 4:10-12

1 Peter 4:10-11

We believe that the Holy Spirit distributes gifts to all believers as He alone determines. These gifts are given for the service of and the building up of the church. We, therefore, believe that all Christians are called to be actively involved in ministry, serving God, the church and the community as the Holy Spirit enables them to do so.

3. Gracious Eldership

1Timothy 3:1-7

Titus 1:5-9

Acts 20:17, 20:28

1 Peter 5:1-4

Acts 15:1-2

1 Timothy 5:17

Acts 6:1-7

1 Timothy 3:8-12

We believe that in the family and in the church, God has given males a headship role. Both men and women receive spiritual gifts intended to empower them for ministry within and beyond the local church, Therefore, it is our belief that women should be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to utilise their gifts in various ministries. In the context of the family, both husbands and wives are accountable to God for nurturing spiritual growth and vitality. Nonetheless, men are assigned primary responsibility for leading their wives and families. This leadership should emulate the servant-leadership and sacrificial love exemplified by Jesus Christ, It’s essential to clarify that this principle of male headship is not synonymous with domineering control but rather reflects the loving, tender, and nurturing care provided by a godly man who is himself under the gentle authority of Jesus Christ.

4. Biblical Eldership

1Timothy 3:1-7

Titus 1:5-9

Acts 20:17, 20:28

1 Peter 5:1-4

Acts 15:1-2

1 Timothy 5:17

Acts 6:1-7

1 Timothy 3:8-12

We believe the local church is to be led by a group of qualified men who serve as elders/overseers. We believe elders are to teach the church. They are to lead, guide and pastorally care for the church. They are also called to settle disputes within the church, exercise discipline within the church and pray for the church. We believe that the elders of the church work in partnership with qualified men and women who serve as deacons of the church and tend to many of the practical needs of the church.

WE PRACTICE:

Our Elders

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
